What can creative companies do to support anti-racism?
Here at Yellow Cat we support the Black Lives Matter movement. Like many others we feel it’s an important and pivotal moment to voice our solidarity with Black Lives Matter.
Read this blog post by our newest recruit Steph, on why ensuring team happiness and wellbeing is essential to the Yellow Cat culture.
Happiness is one of the most important keys to unlocking the inner superheroes within your workforce. We can’t swing a kale infused smoothie without being overwhelmed with what we should or shouldn’t be eating to maintain a healthy body, but what about our happiness levels or mental wellbeing?
It’s a good thing that times are changing! Hurrah I hear you say. The modern world of work has had its eyes firmly opened and the good news is that you don’t need to leave your wellbeing at home with your smile or sense of humour. Many companies are cottoning on to the benefits of cultivating a happy team. This rings true for Yellow Cat, who have employed me – Happiness and People champion!
My job in a nutshell – to ensure the happiness and wellbeing of current and new Yellow Cat employees. This isn’t achieved by offering one-off heartwarming moments, it’s all about cultivating a positive mindset that can ultimately promote prolonged wellbeing and happiness. The effect is infectious, happy employees can help to maintain this outlook with clients and even their friends and family.
“Happiness inspires productivity” – Shawn Achor
So, how do we bottle this to master a great culture?
Firstly, we have made a commitment to this goal -so we offer our team flexible working hours, fresh fruit baskets, free yoga classes, plus promote and champion giving back to charities. We are proud to celebrate success! Praise and recognition can get lost in the day-to-day running of a business, but not for us! Perkbox incentives, gifts and badges ensure our team know how much we value the work that they do.
It’s not all work, work, work – downtime, team socials and a work-life balance can help to reduce stress and improve happiness levels. We have taken this into consideration when devising our happiness strategy.
We’re passionate about finding you a job that makes you excited! Whether you’re a Producer, Editor, Motion Designer or work within creative media, we can help you take the next step in your career.
